A family can expect their child to be hospitalized approximately thirty days when  undergoing blood or marrow transplantation.  And sometimes it can be longer.  To help comfort the child and family during this lengthy stay, NWCG provides a Care Kit to each family upon admission. A tote bag containing comforting and useful items to help provide comfort and help to pass the time is given to the family.  Such items might include a snuggly blanket, toys, gift cards, toiletries, games, snacks, music, books and art supplies.
